Our mission

Our mission is to facilitate and simplify the adoption and implementation of the next version of HIPAA standards.

Our Business

We recognize the version 4010A1 implementation was a difficult and costly process.  Vague requirements within implementation guides resulted in varied implementations. This is contrary to the intent of Administrative Simplification. 

Our goal is to guide accurate and consistent implementations.  If all trading partners involved in the transactions have a consistent understanding, the process of moving from 4010A1 to 5010 will be far easier and less costly.

John Bock, President, eEmergence
John has been an employee of, or consultant to, healthcare entities for the past 20 years.  These include health plans, clearinghouses and providers.  John has been involved in HIPAA related activities since 1997. He serves as co-chair of the ACS X12N Healthcare Claims workgroup, X12 alternate liaison to the National Uniform Billing (NUBC) and National Uniform Claim (NUCC) Committees, and contributor to several Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) committees and task groups.  In addition, he received the WEDI Award of Merit for his exceptional contributions to the Healthcare Industry in 2007.

Debra Strickland, Vice President, eEmergence
Debra Strickland is currently co-chair of the ASC X12 Electronic Remittance
Advice workgroup and has been an X12 member for 11 years. She is also
co-chair of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) 835 Sub
workgroup. She has over 18 years experience in serving healthcare entities.
